IAC VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR BIG STEP CLOSER TO DIVISION TITLE WITH SWEEP OF S-VE (24 PHOTOS) (2025-10-09)

SPENCER — Candor took a major step toward another division title with a sweep of S-VE here Thursday night in IAC South Small School Division volleyball action.

The Coyotes improve to 11-0 in league play — two games ahead of Newfield, and three ahead of S-VE with three remaining to play.

Candor won by scores of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-22.

Emmi Makie led Candor with 16 service points, including two aces, 11 kills, two blocks, and seven assists, while Nicola Soper had nine points, 10 kills, and five digs, and Malley Heidl had eight points, 25 setter assists, and eight digs.

Jill Teribury had eight points and six digs in the win, while Hazel Ray had seven points (two aces), four kills and one block, Tracy Reynolds had four points and two digs, and Montana Vorhis had three points and three digs.

Ava Fernando registered three kills and one block for the Coyotes, while Nora Young added two points — both aces, and Val Polanco-Gil chipped in with two points.

Madison Ashby led S-VE with 11 points, including three aces, and three digs, while Lauren Gillette had four points (three aces), six kills and three blocks, and Elaina Middlebrook had four points, three kills, two blocks, and three digs.

Andy Wallace had three points and 12 digs for the Panthers, while Kelsea Swayze had two points, two digs, and eight assists, and Amani Dibound recorded 20 digs.

S-VE and Candor will both be in action Saturday at the Dryden Tournament.

JV — Candor 2, S-VE 1: Candor won the first set, 25-21, and the third set 25-16. In between, S-VE won the second set, 25-15.

Kaedyn Everhart led Candor with 11 points and four kills, while Anna Kelsey had eight points (four aces) and three kills, and Ashlan Heidl had six points (three aces), two kills and seven assists, and Tori Hall had six points and seven assists.

Ava Anderson had four points and six kills in the win, while Ava Halstead added two points and three kills, and Lizzy Kunte chipped in with five digs.

Molly Rice led S-VE with eight points and five digs, while Riley Koch had seven points (four aces), Caitlyn O'Connor-Lay had six points (two aces), two kills, and three digs, and Lillie Horyczun had five points (two aces), and 17 assists.

Zoey Barton had six points (three aces), four kills and six digs for the Panthers, while Kylee Stahl added three points, Leah Neish registered six kills and two digs, and Madison Emery chipped in with two kills.
