NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley pulled out a hard-fought sweep of Dryden here Tuesday night in IAC Large School Division crossover action.
The Cardinals earned the win on Senior Night by scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-22.
Anaya Aylesworth led Newark Valley with seven service aces, seven kills and digs, while Haven Aylesworth had seven setter assists, three kills and seven digs, and Adriana Rich had two aces, six kills and two digs.
Emilee Rhodes had five assists, two kills and three digs for the Cardinals, while Rowan Veruto had three aces, and six digs, Aviah Aylesworth had two kills and seven digs, Emma O'Fenner added four assists, and Hailey Keith chipped in with three digs.
Newark Valley returns to action Thursday at Trumansburg.
JV — Newark Valley 2, Dryden 1: After dropping the first set, 25-20, Newark Valley bounced back to win the next two by scores of 25-22 and 25-19.
Kaitlyn Keith had two aces, four kills and seven digs, Natalie Wandell had three aces, two kills, and six assists, and Molly Hines had three aces, five kills, and two digs.
Alyssa Baldwin had two aces, two assists, and three digs in the win, while Mana Vidovich had two aces and one block, Shaine Anguish added three kills, and Addison Smith chipped in with two kills.
