IAC BOYS SOCCER: SVEC RALLIES WITH FOUR SECOND-HALF GOALS IN 4-2 WIN OVER UNION SPRINGS (2025-10-07)

UNION SPRINGS — SVEC scored four goals in the second half to rally for a 4-2 win over Union Springs here Tuesday afternoon in IAC Large School crossover boys soccer action.

"The boys played with determination tonight in the second half," said SVEC coach Jason Banks. "It was an even match the first half and then Union Springs took advantage of a slip in our back line right before the half.

"We went down twice in the game and never gave up," noted Banks. "When we went down, our guys seemed to be motivated to get it back.  

"Our outside backs — Ryan Ackerly and Tyler Decker, did well to recognize Union Springs' plan and held their own against it to shut it down," added Banks.

The Wolves broke a scoreless tie late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into the halftime intermission.

Kyle Jantz scored early in the second half to even the score, but Union Springs to take a 2-1 lead.

Jantz scored against to tie the game at 2-2, setting the stage for a pair of Nate Morse goals, both off assists from Jantz, to give SVEC a 4-2 lead.

SVEC, now 7-5, returns to action Thursday at Edison.
