TIOGA COUNTY — Horseheads has picked up its play recently, and S-VE became the latest victim in a sweep here Monday night in non-league volleyball action.
Horseheads, which also beat Waverly and Tioga recently, won by scores of 25-17, 25-17, and 25-20.
Madison Ashby led S-VE with nine service points, including four aces, four kills, and seven digs, while Andy Wallace had five points and 10 digs, Kelsea Swayze had five points, 11 setter assists, and three digs.
Elaina Middlebrook had three points, two kills, and five digs for the Panthers, while Amani Diboun had three points and five digs, Lauren Gillett had two points, five kills, one block, and five digs, and Allison Oakes chipped in with one block.
S-VE returns to action Thursday when it hosts Candor.
JV — Horseheads 2, S-VE 0: Horseheads won the junior varsity match by scores of 25-13 and 25-20, and also won an exhibition set, 25-20.
Caitlyn O'Connor-Lay led S-VE with eight points, including three aces, three digs, and two assists, while Lillie Horyczun had six points (three aces), five kills, and two digs, and Kylee Stahl had five points, three digs, and two kills.
Molly Rice had three points and two digs for the junior Panthers, while Riley Koch had two points and five digs, Leah Neish had two points and four digs, Zoey Barton recorded five digs, and Madison Emery and Lizzy Swimlear chipped in with two digs apiece.
