OWEGO — Owego bounced back from its first loss of the season quite nicely with a sweep of Chenango Forks here Friday night in STAC Central Division volleyball action.
The River Hawks, who dropped a five-set thriller to Corning Wednesday, swept the Blue Devils by scores of 25-7, 25-9 and 25-15.
Maggie Hamed led Owego with six service aces, nine kills and five digs, while Braelea McLaren had five kills and three aces, and Gracie Zimmer registered nine kills.
Bella Miller doled out 13 setter assists for the River Hawks, while Macey Shaw added seven assists, and Emily Bennett and Peyton Coolbaugh recorded five and four digs, respectively, in the win.
Owego, now 9-1, returns to action Saturday morning at the Horseheads Tournament.
