CANDOR — Notre Dame jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead, and held on for a 4-2 win over SVEC here Thursday afternoon in IAC South Large School Division boys soccer action at Candor High School.
Davi Valente netted a hat trick in the first half to put the Crusaders up 3-0 at the intermission.
Xavier Beach scored a pair of goals for the Eagles in the second half — one off an assist from Kyle Jantz and Brennan Zimmer, but Valente tacked on his fourth goal for Notre Dame.

Notre Dame had a 16-8 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 9-3 edge in corner kicks.
Zimmer recorded nine saves in net for the Eagles.
SVEC, now 6-5, returns to action Tuesday at Union Springs.
