CANTON, N.Y. — Owego grads Stephen Bidwell, who rushed for his first TD of the season, and Jack Buchsbaum both contributed in Alfred University's 35-13 win over St. Lawrence here Saturday afternoon.
Bidwell, a junior, rushed nine times for 42 yards and one TD, including a long run of 9 yards, while Buchsbaum, a freshman, hauled in three receptions for 47 yards, including a long of 27 yards, and had one carry for no yards.
Bidwell's TD was a 2-yard run with 5:28 remaining in the third quarter that put the Saxons up 21-6. It was the fifth TD of his career — four rushing and one receiving.
On the season, Bidwell has 83 yards and one TD on 23 carries. He also has two receptions for 3 yards.
On the season, Buchsbaum has 12 receptions for 141 yards.
Alfred, now 2-1, returns to action Saturday at St. John Fisher in its Empire 8 Conference opener.
