SIDNEY — Sidney's Dylan Casey scored the game's only goal in the first sudden-death overtime period in a 1-0 win over Newark Valley here Wednesday afternoon in Section IV field hockey action.
The Cardinal defense and keeper Ashley Callahan kept the game scoreless, despite Sidney controlling the action for the majority of game.
Sidney had a 9-1 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 7-0 edge in penalty corners.
Newark Valley, now 0-4, returns to action Friday when it hosts Maine-Endwell.
