Tioga County Sports ReportNEWFIELD — SVEC scored a pair of first-half goals, and the defense was in shut-down mode all game in a 2-0 win over Newfield here Tuesday afternoon.
Kyle Jantz scored both goals for the Eagles, the first off an assist from Taylor Vanderpoel, and the second off a feed from Nathan Morse.
SVEC had a 10-2 advantage in shots-on-goal, while Newfield had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
Sirron Irvin recorded two saves in net for SVEC.
SVEC, now 2-0, returns to action Monday when it hosts Watkins Glen at Candor High School.
