TIOGA COUNTY — The SVEC boys soccer team hosts the only contest in Tioga County east of Waverly this afternoon.

BOYS SOCCER
Newfield (1-0) at SVEC (1-0), 4:30 p.m.: The Eagles edged Whitney Point, 2-1, Wednesday in their season-opener, while the Trojans topped Groton, 3-2.

Newark Valley (0-0) at Groton (0-1), 4:30 p.m.: The Cardinals open their 2025 season this afternoon, while the Red Hawks dropped a 3-2 decisiion to Newfield.

Windsor (0-0) at Owego (0-3), 7 p.m.: The River Hawks are coming off 3-1 losses to Chenango Forks and Notre Dame at the "607 Cup," while the Black Knights open their season this afternoon.

FIELD HOCKEY
SVEC at Moravia (2-0), 4:30 p.m.: The Eagles open the 2025 season this afternoon, while the Blue Devils topped Auburn and Weedsport to win the Cayuga County Tournament.

Owego (0-1) at Vestal, 5 p.m.: The River Hawks are coming  off a 6-0 loss to Maine-Endwell, while the Golden Bears open the season this afternoon.
