Tioga County Sports ReportCHENANGO FORKS — Owego headed to Chenango Valley State Park Golf Course Friday and dropped a STAC boys golf match to Chenango Valley, 230-240.
The River Hawks were once again paced by senior newcomer Sawyer Prentiss, who recorded a 43. This time, he shared that honor with senior Duke Snyder.
Sophomore Jordan Snyder contributed a 48 and senior newcomer Connor Kotski carded a 50. Rounding out the team scoring was sophomore Wyatt Prentiss with a 56.
The Warriors’ scorers all shot in the 40s, led by senior Madden Michalko, who claimed medalist honors with a 41.
Owen Harrison had a 45, 8th-grader Brody McMahon scored a 47, Sam Houser posted a 48 and Tommy Whitman added a 49.
Hunter Brigham, an 8th-grader, had a non-scoring 66 for Owego(0-2) and Logan Henyan shot a non-scoring 52 for CV (1-0).
Both teams will compete in the 30th annual Nick Dinunzio Memorial Golf Tournament at En-Joie Golf Club on Monday.
