Tioga County Sports ReportWAVERLY — Corning and Candor each finished the regular season with one loss, and will be the top two seeds in next week's playoffs here in the Waverly Summer League Varsity Boys Basketball League.
Corning notched a 62-44 win over Athens, and a 68-53 win over Towanda, which will be the third seed, while Candor beat Wyalusing, 46-33.
Waverly closed out the regular season at 7-4 with a 41-39 loss to Wellsboro (the fourth seed) and will be the sixth seed, while Athens, which was 5-6, is the seventh seed.
Tioga dropped a 26-23 decision to Towanda to finish the season at 1-10, and Edison edged Horseheads, 41-39, for its first win of the season.
