TRACK & FIELD: S-VE GETS IN SOLID WORK ON THE TRACK AT TIOGA IN PREPARATION FOR QUICKLY APPROACHING POSTSEASON (2025-05-15)

TIOGA - After several cancellations due to weather in the last few weeks, as well as the championship portion of the season approaching quickly, the Panthers made the trip to Tioga yesterday for some continued preparation, running alongside the Tigers and Newfield.

On the boys' side S-VE's Edward Rixford won the 800-meters with 2:16.7. Rixford also earned a second place finish in the 1600m with 4:55.3. 

Theo Mueller-Steinhardt won the 200m, running 23.6 and Zachary Paucke was third with 25.2.

Karson Kenville finished second overall in the 110 hurdles, running 16.1, while Mueller-Steinhardt earned second place in the 100-meter dash, clocking 11.5.

Lincoln Jones had a third place time in the 3200m, clocking 13:00.24, while Kenville took third in the triple jump, leaping 36-8.5.

Chase Whitmarsh threw 113-2 to win the discus event for the Panthers.

S-VE boys fell to Newfield, 72-69.

For the girls, S-VE's Kaylee Kastenhuber won the shot put with a heave of 27-9. Kastenhuber also won the discus event, throwing 88-4.

Madelyn Ellison finished second in the 1500-meters with 5:45.7. Kendall Gentile ran 2:57.08 for a second place finish in the 800m.

In the pole vault, Lilie Stevens posted 6-0, while Ellison went 4-4 in the high jump.

Ashley Ellison leaped 13-2, 3/4 in the long jump and Aubrey Catablan threw 76-0 in the discus for S-VE. Catablan also heaved 23-1, 3/4 in the shot put.

Newfield girls defeated the Panthers, 87-36 head-to-head.

S-VE track and field will be at the Corning Fast Times Meet on Friday.
