WATKINS GLEN - SVEC went on the road to Watkins Glen on Friday and carried a lead through four innings, but ultimately dropped their IAC matchup after the Storm came back to walk it off in the final inning for the win, 7-6.
The Eagles came out hot, going ahead 2-0 after the first inning. Jason Jantz got on base with a walk and Cam Sinn reached on a single. With two-outs, Kellen Williamson lifted a fly ball to center field that drove in both runners.
SVEC got another run home in the second, when Clayton Bower scored on a passed ball. In the home half of the inning Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour put their first run on the board to make things 3-1 in favor of the Eagles.
The Eagles made it 5-1 in the third inning. Deveon Aman lead off with a walk. Zach Lang then cracked a double to right field to bring in Aman. Wyatt Ross hit a double in the next at-bat, but Lang was thrown out trying to advance home. After Sirron Irvin walked, Bower stepped in the box and knocked a single to score Ross.
After a scoreless fourth, the Storm used a four-run fifth inning to tie the game up.
SVEC's Cam Sinn ripped an RBI single in the sixth, bringing in Logan Aman to once again give the Eagles a lead. Watkins Glen/O-M came right back in the bottom of the inning though.
The Storm loaded the bases with two singles and a walk, before bringing home the tying run after a hit by pitch. SVEC's Williamson did a nice job to work out of the jam and get his team into the seventh without any further damage.
In the final inning, SVEC loaded the bases in the top half, but couldn't plate any runs. The Storm would go on to put runners on the corners in the bottom of the seventh, and walking it off with a base-hit for the win.
Williamson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs on the day. Lang and Bower also went 2-for-4, and both driving in a run each.
Cam Sinn had an RBI along with a run scored in Friday's action, while Logan Aman, Jantz, Ross, and Deveon Aman all scored a run each.
The Eagles will face Edison in on Monday.
