BINGHAMTON - The River Hawks notched a crucial STAC Central win on Wednesday, traveling to Chenango Valley and handing the Warriors their first division loss, 7-4.
Carsten Crawford was solid for Owego in the circle, going all seven innings, fanning 11 batters and allowing just three earned runs.
The Warriors jumped out in front early, going up 2-1 after the first inning.
OFA tied things up with a run in the second, thanks to a Bella Beams double that drove in Audrionna Howe.
Chenango Valley got two back in the third though to regain the lead.
After a scoreless fourth, the River Hawks plated three runs in the fifth inning to go ahead and another two runs in the sixth to put the game away.
Miley Laubach went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Geneva Crawford and Maia Smith each recorded a double in the game, as well as an RBI each. Beams, Lexi Cheeseman, Howe, and Carsten Crawford all scored a run in the win.
Owego improves to 11-2 for the season and will go head to head with Waverly at home on Friday.
