CANDOR - Despite a struggle early on to find runs, SVEC got on the board late, but Edison's Drew Slavin was a tough match-up all game on the mound, in a Spartans 5-3 victory.
Edison plated three in the first, before the game went scoreless the next two innings. In the top part of the fourth, the Spartans scored another two runs for a comfortable 5-0 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth however, SVEC would put a nice inning together and get three across, falling by two to Edison.
With one out, Xavier Beach knocked a base hit. Logan Aman would then reach on an error at third base. Jason Jantz flew out to center field, but Cam Sinn singled in the next at-bat to drive in Beach. Deveon Aman followed with a two-out double, driving in Logan Aman and Sinn.
Logan Aman, Sinn and Beach all scored a run each in Monday's action, while Deveon Aman finished with two RBIs.
Despite the loss, Zachary Lang pitched well for the Eagles. Lang went seven innings, striking out four and allowing three earned runs.
SVEC baseball will get back to action on Wednesday, hosting Trumansburg.
