STAC SOFTBALL: OFA PLATES SIX BUT CAN'T SLOW ELMIRA IN ROAD LOSS (2025-05-02)

Tioga County Sports Report
ELMIRA - Owego got on the board early in Friday's contest, but struggled to slow Elmira's offense over the course of the game, as the River Hawks drop one on the road, 12-6.

OFA jumped out in front with three runs in the top of the first. Joslyn Space lead off the game with a single to left field. Geneva Crawford followed with a walk. Carsten Crawford dropped down a bunt that resulted in an Express error and scored Space.

On a wild pitch, Geneva Crawford scored and Carsten moved to third. With one out, Maia Smith lifted a sac-fly to right, bringing in Crawford.

Elmira came right back with nine runs over the first four innings, while OFA didn't get back on the board until plating their final three runs in the top part of the fifth. The Express once again responded to Owego's offense though, with three more runs of their own in the home half of the inning.

Space was a bright spot for the River Hawks, going 4-for-4 on the day with two runs scored. Smith and Carsten Crawford both notched two RBIs, while Geneva Crawford finished with a hit to go with two runs.

OFA will try to rebound on Monday when they travel to face Waverly.
