WINDSOR - Owego track and field finished strong at the Gerry O'Donnell Invitational in Windsor on Friday, with the boys placing second as a team and the girls earning third.

OFA boys totaled a team score of 90, while the girls  finished with 56.

On the girls' side, Stella Palladino was a double winner on Friday night. Palladino won the 100-meter dash, clocking 12.42 and her time of 25.57 in the 200m breaks a school record that has been in the books since 1989. Both times were new personal bests in each event.

"I am so excited for Stella. She has worked so hard this season on her block starts and really wanted to break the school sprint records that have stood since 1989. This is a huge accomplishment and I couldn’t be more proud," said head coach Scott Senko.

Jaelyn Chrysler won the 3000m with 11:11.21 and Madison McEvoy took fifth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:05.44.

Lilly LaFever earned a second place finish in the girls' 1500-meters, clocking 5:43.55, while Abigail McHugh grabbed fifth in the event with 5:48.93.

OFA's girls' 4x400-meter relay team placed second with 4:28.83.

For the boys, Javan Belokur won the 3200m, running 10:39.26, while Jaeden King took second in the 100-meter dash with 11.36.

Gavin Heath grabbed first place in the 400m, clocking 51.20. Brady Senko finished second in the 110 hurdles with 16.70, shaving half a second off his personal best time.

The boys 4x800m took second, running 8:33.32 and the 4x400m relay team placed third with 3:35.60.

Dylan Davis heaved 42-11.5 for second in the shot put event and threw 115-11 for fourth in the discus, two new personal bests. Adam Llewellyn ran 23.95 in the 200-meter, earning third place for OFA.

Sullivan O'Donnell finished second in the 3000m steeplechase with 11:30.41.

"We are starting to see the results of all the hard work the athletes have been putting in. The times are dropping and the distances are increasing," said coach Senko.

"We are in a really good place heading into the second half of the season. Many of these athletes have the potential to perform well in the championship meets at the end of the season."

Owego will be back on the track again at Chenango Valley on May 7th.
