OWEGO - Previously winners of six straight, OFA softball fell for the first time at home on Tuesday, losing to Susquehanna Valley, 5-0.
Carsten Crawford got the start in the circle for OFA, going the full seven innings. Crawford gave up three earned runs on seven hits, while striking out six.
Not to be outdone though, SV's D'Introno also pitched a complete game, striking out ten and keeping the River Hawks off the scoreboard.
Susquehanna Valley scored right off the bat with a run in the top of the first. The Sabers added three more in the third and their final run coming in the sixth inning.
Owego threatened in the bottom half of the sixth. Joslyn Space singled, but was caught stealing. Carsten Crawford then tripled, but Miley Laubach lined out to left to end the inning.
Crawford finished 2-for-3 from the plate. Space and Maia Smith each recorded a hit as well.
Owego softball takes the diamond again on Wednesday when they host Chenango Forks.
