BINGHAMTON - The River Hawks trailed throughout the majority of the game, but combined for six runs in the fifth and six inning to beat Seton Catholic, 8-4 on the road.
Owego got on the board quick, plating two runs in the top part of the first inning, thanks to a two-run Carsten Crawford homer to center field.
Seton Catholic came right back with four runs of their own in the home half of the first. The game would remain that way until OFA broke through in the fifth.
Crawford singled with one out in the fifth, then stole second and third. Miley Laubach would walk and also steal second. With two runners on, Maia Smith doubled to center, driving in both Crawford and Laubach.
In the top part of the sixth, Mikenna Wilbur reached base on an error by the third baseman. Wilbur would steal second before being hit in by Joslyn Space. Geneva Crawford stepped to the plate next and also reached on an error. Carsten Crawford doubled on the next at bat to drive in Space and Geneva Crawford. Laubach followed up with a single bringing in Owego's final run in the win.
Joslyn Space was excellent on the mound in relief, going five innings without surrendering a run and striking out nine.
Carsten Crawford was 3-for-4 from the plate, with four RBIs and three runs scored. Smith went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Geneva Crawford scored twice, while Space, Laubach, and Wilbur each scored a run a piece.
The River Hawks are home on Wednesday to play Chenango Forks.
