IAC SOFTBALL: SVEC FALLS AT HOME TO WATKINS GLEN/ODESSA MONTOUR (2025-04-07)

Tioga County Sports Report
VAN ETTEN - The Eagles managed to bring home six runs to start the week, but ultimately dropped their IAC contest to Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour, 19-6.

The Storm blew the game open early with an 11-run first inning, before scoring three more in the second.

SVEC responded with three of their own in the bottom half of the third, thanks to a Katelyn Klym single that scored Faith Brenchley and Ryleigh Bowman. Klym would cross the plate herself on an Olivia Potts base hit.

Watkins Glen/O-M plated a run in the fifth and put the game away with four more in the top half of the sixth.

For the Eagles, Klym lead the way, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Maddy Ashby was 2-for-3, while Potts and Brenchley each had an RBI a piece. Bowman scored twice on the day and Kaidince Root added a run as well.

SVEC is home again Wednesday when they play Elmira Notre Dame.
