IAC SOFTBALL: EAGLES DROP ONE TO WHITNEY POINT IN FIVE INNINGS (2025-04-04)

WHITNEY POINT - SVEC softball couldn't overcome a few big innings early on, losing to Whitney Point, 24-4 in IAC action.

The Eagles allowed 24 runs on 11 hits, while committing four errors. Whitney Point poured it on early, scoring a combined 17 runs in the first two innings and seven runs total in the third and fourth.

SVEC got on the board in the top of the first when Faith Brenchley hit a fly ball to right field  that resulted in an error, allowing Brenchley to advance to third. Katelyn Klym would drive Brenchley in with a double to center.

The Eagles plated another three runs in the top half of the fourth. Kelsea Swayze walked to begin the  inning and moved to second on a passed ball. With one out, Emma Neish struck a two-run homer to right field. 

Jillian Holmes walked in the next at-bat and advanced to third on a single by Klym. Holmes put SVEC's fourth run on the board, scoring on a passed ball.

Klym lead the Eagles with two hits and an RBI. Neish homered to tally two RBIs and Brenchley went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

SVEC softball hosts Watkins Glen this Monday.
