OWEGO - The River Hawks hosted Vestal on Monday evening for a scrimmage while continuing to get regular season ready for Thursday's home opener against Chenango Valley. 

Owego worked through some jitters in the early going, but settled in nicely as the scrimmage progressed.

"It took us a few minutes to get going, but once we started to trust each other and play our game, we looked good," head coach Ashlee Marsh said.

Several players worked in and out of the rotation Monday with some key starters finding the net a few times, including Lexi Herceg, Madison McEvoy and Amelia Sherman.

"Obviously we have plenty to work on in practice the next couple of days to get us ready for Thursday. Overall it was a great team effort though tonight from everyone and we're looking forward to seeing what we can do this season," added Marsh.

Owego girls' lacrosse take on Chenango Valley this Thursday to begin their regular season.
