The New York spring sports regular season officially begins this week, with as many as five area teams that will see their first action of 2025. 

Getting their regular season underway this week are S-VE girls' golf, SVEC baseball, Owego girls' lacrosse, OFA softball, and Red Hawks' flag football.

Below is a look at this week's schedule:

- S-VE girls' golf will face off with Waverly at Shepard Hills.

- OFA flag football begins their quest to repeat as Section IV champions. They open the season at home with Susquehanna Valley.

- Owego girls' lacrosse finished last season with a 9-7 record. They kickoff 2025 at home taking on visiting Chenango Valley. 

- OFA flag has a quick turnaround, as they are back on the gridiron Friday, this time on the road to face Greene.

- Owego softball will log their first innings of the season early Saturday morning. They draw South Lewis at 10 a.m. for the season opener.

- SVEC baseball takes the diamond for the first time this spring when they play at Windsor.

- Triple duty this week for the River Hawk's flag football squad. They will be in Chenango Valley for a "kickoff event" this weekend.
