WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: OWEGO GRAD DOANE NAMED ALL-CONFERENCE; THIRD IN NATION IN REBOUNDING (2025-03-12)

DRYDEN — Owego grad Cassie Doane, a freshman on the Tompkins-Cortland CC women's basketball team, was recently voted to the Mid-State Athletic Conference second-team all-conference team.

Doane led the conference and was third in the nation with 15.1 rebounds per game.

Doane started all 17 games for the Panthers, averaging 12.8 points, 15.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.1 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 30.1 minutes per game. She shot 48.2 percent from the field.

Doane scored a season-high 23 points twice this season, and also scored 22 in a game. She had a season-high 31 rebounds in a game, and pulled down 24 boards in another.

Doane hauled down double-digit rebounds 15 times this season, and her low rebound total in a game was eight. She also scored in double-figures 12 times.

Doane, who had 22 points and 31 rebounds in a win over SUNY Broome, had 11 double-doubles on the season.

The Panthers reached the NJCAA Region 3 playoffs, and dropped a 56-52 decision to Finger Lakes Community College. Doane had 12 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and one blocked shot.
