SECTION IV BOYS BOWLING: CANDOR’S FLOYD SNAGS ALTERNATE SPOT ON STATE TEAM (2025-02-27) Tioga County Sports Report
WAVERLY — Candor standout Kody Floyd earned a spot on the Composite all-star team following a ninth-place finish at the Section IV Division 2 Boys Bowling State Qualifier at Valley Bowling Center here Thursday.
He rolled a 9-game series of 1950, to include a 612 and 673 at the qualifier and a 665 at last week’s class sectionals. The top seven individual bowlers make up the Composite team, with the seventh man going as an alternate.
Although Floyd was ninth, two of the competitors who placed ahead of him were from Waverly, which won the team championship, and are ineligible to compete in the Composite tournament.
Floyd was the lone Coyote kegler to roll over 600 in each of the three series.
Malcolm Jackson would record the high game in Division 2 with a 278 in his opening game of the qualifier. That score was also the fourth highest overall. He ended up with a 622 series, then beat that score by one pin in the afternoon. He had a 511 at sectionals to finish with a 1756.
Tyler Dunham’s best series of the qualifier was a 626 in the afternoon. Compiled with a 554 in the morning and a 571 at sectionals, he finished with a 1751 total.
