THE WEEK AHEAD: REGULAR SEASON COMES TO END; POSTSEASON BEGINS WITH FLURRY OF ACTION (2025-02-16)
Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — The week begins with the final four regular-season basketball games of the season, and ends with a flurry of postseason action, including basketball, boys swimming, bowling, and indoor track & field.
There are 10 events this week, including Sunday's Section IV Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The following are all of the varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:
MONDAY (1)• Owego hosts Schenevus in non-league girls basketball action.

UESDAY (3)• The Newark Valley girls wrap up the regular season with a home basketball game against Maine-Endwell.
• The Owego girls and boys wrap up the regular season with a basketball doubleheader. The girls host Southern Cayuga at 5:30 p.m., with the boys against Lansing immediately following.
WEDNESDAY (2)• Candor takes on Moravia in the overall IAC Small School Championship game at Tompkins-Cortland Community College.
• Owego is in action at the Section IV, Class B swimming preliminaries at Maine-Endwell.
THURSDAYThere are no games on the schedule.
FRIDAY (1)• Candor, Newark Valley, and Owego compete in the Section IV, Class Girls' Bowling Sectionals at Vestal's Midway Lanes.
SATURDAY (2)• Candor, Newark Valley, and Owego compete in the Section IV, Class Boys' Bowling Sectionals at Vestal's Midway Lanes.
• Owego is in action at the Section IV, Class B Boys Swimming Championships.
SUNDAY (1)• Owego is in action at the Section IV Indoor Track & Field State Qualifier at Cornell.
