SECTION IV WRESTLING: STRUBLE LEADS NINE OWEGO WRESTLERS INTO ACTION AT DIVISION 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS (2025-02-15)

BINGHAMTON — Senior Bobby Struble is a second seed for Sunday's Section IV, Division 2 Wrestling Championships, and leads a pack of nine River Hawk wrestlers in action at the Broome County Arena.

The top three in each weight class advance to the New York State Division 2 Championships Feb. 27-28 at the Broome County Arena.

Struble (27-6) is the second seed at 160 pounds. He will face the winner of the match opening-round between seventh-seeded Albert Smith (24-10) of M-E and 10th-seeded Logan Woodlin (26-12) of Newark Valley in the quarterfinals.

Sophomore Dylan Brace (24-6) is the fourth seed at 138 pounds. He will face the winner of the opening-round match between fifth-seeded Justin Somers (23-7) of Walton-Delhi and 12th-seeded Thomas Harriger (9-16) of Moravia in the quarterfinals.

Senior Collin Monell (28-10) is the fourth seed at 131 pounds. He will face the winner of the opening-round match between fifth-seeded Gavin Nordberg (40-6) of Unatego-Unadilla Valley-Franklin and 12th-seeded Evan Waltz (16-17) of Oneonta in the quarterfinals.

Freshman Vitaly Sirotkin (17-12) is the sixth seed at 101 pounds, and will square off with Whitney Point's Gabe Smith (13-15) in the opening round.

Junior Lucas Bocassini (19-12) is the seventh seed at 190 pounds, and will face 10th-seeded Jack Barnes (19-13) of Norwich in the opening round.

Freshman Robbie Curley (16-11) is the seventh seed at 108 pounds, and will square off with 10th-seeded Jacob Shipman (14-12) of Newark Valley in the opening round.

Sophomore Trevor Monell (14-12) is the eighth seed at 215 pounds, and will face ninth-seeded Paxton Hoover (13-10) of Edison in the opening round.

Senior Jonathon Gilliland (15-15) is the 10th seed at 145 pounds, and will face 7th-seeded Marcos Escalante (29-10) of Newark Valley in the opening round.

Freshman Anthony Neumuth (5-15) is the 11th seed at 285 pounds, and will face sixth-seeded Mark McCane (21-12) of Tioga in the opening round.

Action begins at 9:30 a.m.
