SVEC'S BEACH NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"Beach went 7-0 on the week to win the Lady Knight Invitational at Windsor and an IAC title.
Beach
went 3-0 at Windsor with a technical fall and two sub-60 second falls.
She pinned Waverly's Emma Vanderhoof in the 120-pound finals.
Beach
went 4-0 at the IAC Championships, with three falls and a medical
forfeit. She pinned Groton's Carmen Bishop, Section IV's top-ranked
126-pounder, in the 126-pound finals for her first IAC title.

TOWANDA'S HIGLEY NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"Higley became the first Towanda wrestler to ever win a title at the Ultimate Warrior Tournament at West Branch High School.
Higley scored pins in 67 and 52 seconds in his first two bouts, then won an 18-3 technical fall.
Higley
scored a 3-0 win over Peyton Kearns of Mifflin County in the
semifinals, then forged an 11-3 major decision over returning state
qualifier Jonah McCoy of Westmont Hilltop in the finals.
During the week, Higley scored a 22-6 technical fall over Athens senior Caleb Nason in Towanda's dual win over the Wildcats.
