IAC BOWLING: NEWARK VALLEY BOYS SALVAGE POINT BY 1 PIN IN 3-1 LOSS AT WATKINS GLEN (2025-01-30)

WATKINS GLEN — Newark Valley won the third game by one pin to avoid a sweep in a 3-1 loss to Watkins Glen here Thursday afternoon in IAC boys bowling action at Harborside Lanes.

The Lake Hawks won the first two games by scores of 809-717 and 797-638, but the Cardinals bounced back in the third game for a 782-781 win. Watkins Glen won the total-pinfall by a count of 2,387 to 2,137.

Devon Green led Newark Valley with a 512 series, and James Wales shot a 445.

William Simmons rolled a 386 for the Cardinals, while John Sloughter had a 385, Mason Peck added a 377, and Riley Levine tacked on a 315.

Brett Cullen-Pike led Watkins Glen with a 553 series.

Newark Valley hosts Lansing Friday afternoon.
