NEWARK VALLEY'S SHORT NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"Short averaged 21 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocked shots, 2.5 steals, and 2 assists per game in two Cardinal wins.
Short scored a career-high 24 points to go along with eight rebounds, three assists, four steals, and six blocked shots in a 77-30 win over Trumansburg.
Short led Newark Valley with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots in a 66-20 win over Dryden later in the week.

CANDOR'S FOSTER NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"Foster averaged 34 points, 8 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 5 steals in two games.
Foster led Candor with 25 points, including a pair of 3-pointers and a 9-for-10 performance from free-throw line, to go along with seven rebounds, nine assists, and six steals in a 75-47 win over O-M.
Foster poured in 43 points, and had nine rebounds, four assists, and four steals in a 75-70 overtime loss to state-ranked Union Springs later in the week.
