THE WEEK AHEAD: POSTSEASON WRESTLING TAKES CENTER STAGE (2025-01-19)

Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY — It's Regents Week in New York, so the schedule is a little lighter than usual, but wrestling takes center stage with the Section IV Duals Wednesday, and the IAC and STAC Championships over the weekend.

There are 22 events on the docket this week, including seven on Friday and five each on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

MONDAY (1)
•  SVEC and Owego will compete at the Windsor Girls Wrestling Tournament.

TUESDAY (5)
•  Tioga hosts IAC Small School bowling rival Candor at the Valley Bowling Center.

•  Newark Valley hosts longtime basketball rival Tioga.

•  The Owego swimmers host IAC powerhouse Lansing.

•  Newark Valley hosts O-M bowling at Cardinal Lanes.

WEDNESDAY (5)
•  Newark Valley hosts Marathon in an IAC boys hoop crossover game.

•  Owego hosts Dryden in a non-league wrestling match.

•  S-VE hosts Watkins Glen in IAC boys basketball action.

•  The Owego bowlers host Chenango Forks at the Owego Bowl.

THURSDAY (2)
•  Candor hosts Large School bowling power at the Owego Bowl.

FRIDAY (7)
•  Owego will be at Day 1 of the STAC Wrestling Championships at Johnson City High School.

•  Candor travels to take on Small School boys basketball rival Tioga.

•  Newark Valley hosts Edison in an IAC Large School boys hoop match-up.

•  S-VE hosts longtime IAC girls hoop rival O-M.

SATURDAY (2)

•  Newark Valley at SVEC compete at the IAC wrestling championships at Watkins Glen.

•  Owego will be at Day 2 of the STAC Wrestling Championships at Johnson City High School.
