ELMIRA — Junior Tayah Beach won a title, and sophomore Dallas Bohling was a runner-up here Saturday at the third annual Southern Tier Memorial Wrestling Tournament.

SVEC finished 14th in the 42-team field with 67 points. Niagara-Wheatfield won the team title with 138.5, while Homer was second with 132, General Brown was third at 117.5 points, Oneonta was fourth with 99 and Tioga was fifth with 96.5 points.

Beach, the fourth seed, went 5-0 to win the 120-pound title. She had one technical fall, and four first-period falls.

Beach opened the day with a 15-0 technical fall win over Homer's Isabella Ciconi, then decked Elmira's Dodo Lundfelt in 1:12.

In the quarterfinals, Beach pinned Windsor Kimberly Olaeta in 1:02, then advanced to the finals with a pin of top-seeded Kaegan Rhodes of Corning in 1:55.

Io the title bout, Beach flattened Homer's second-seeded Mya Locke in 29 seconds.

Bohling, the second seed, was 4-1 to place second in the 114-pound bracket.

Bohling opened with a pin of Waverly's Sydney Rosenbloom in 1:12, then scored a 10-0 technical fall of Elmira's Rosalyn Irvin.

In the quarterfinals, Bohling scored a 38-second fall of Tottenville's Jasmine Kakis.

In the semifinals, Bohling decked Corning's Lauren Mahon in 1:36 to advance to the championship match, where she lost via fall in 2:45 to top-seeded Rylie Meagher of Camden.

Also at 114 pounds, freshman Taylor Zufall was 2-2. Both of her wins were via pinfall.

Sophomore Katelynn VanEtten was 1-2 in the 235-pound bracket. Her lone win was a 54-second fall.

Freshman Abigail Russell was 0-2 in the 132-pound weight class.
