IAC JV BOYS BASKETBALL: WILLIAMSON PUMPS IN 25 TO LEAD CANDOR IN 59-46 WIN OVER S-VE (2025-01-08)

SPENCER — Kellen Williamson pumped in 25 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Candor to a 59-46 win over Spencer-VanEtten here Wednesday night in IAC junior varsity boys basketball action.

Williamson knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points in the first quarter, and the Coyotes built a 12-9 lead after the opening stanza.

Williamson scored 10 more points, including two more 3-pointers, in the second quarter, in a 15-14 advantage in the stanza that increased the lead to 27-23 at the half.

Camden Losey pumped in a trio of 3-pointers in the third quarter, and Elliott Johanns added on 3-pointer to help S-VE to a 14-13 advantage in the stanza, closing the gap to 40-37 heading into the fourth quarter.

Kyle Jantz scored six points in the fourth quarter, and Williamson added five to fuel a 19-9 game-closing run for the Coyotes.

Oscar Valdez-Cole had 10 points for the Coyotes, while Jantz scored eight points, Zach
Hillman added six points, and Hunter Cody chipped in with five points.

Losey led S-VE with 13 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, while Johanna had 10 points, Gabe MCCracken scored six points, Aaron Shoemaker Jr. added five points, and Javier Baillo and Taylor VanDerpoel chipped in with four points apiece.

Candor returns to action Friday at Southern Cayuga, while S-VE travels to Groton.
