TIOGA COUNTY SPORTS REPORT: NEWARK VALLEY'S MIDDENDORF, SVEC'S BOHLING NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2024-12-18)

TIOGA COUNTY — Newark Valley senior Trevor Middendorf and SVEC sophomore Dallas Bohling both were dominant in winning individual wrestling titles Saturday. They are the TCSR / Guthrie Community Credit Union "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Dec. 14.

NEWARK VALLEY'S MIDDENDORF NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION BOYS 'ATHLETE OF THE WEEK'
Middendorf went 4-0 to win the 124-pound weight class at the Dave Buck Memorial Tournament Saturday.

Middendorf scored a pair of first-period falls to start the tournament, then topped Waverly standout Drayton DeKay, 10-5, and scored  a technical fall win over returning fourth-place state finisher Lucas Hoffman of Schuyler in the finals.

Middendorf also recorded a first-period fall in the Cardinals win over Marathon earlier in the week.

SVEC'S BOHLING NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION GIRLS 'ATHLETE OF THE WEEK'
Bohling went 5-0 with two falls and three technical falls on her way to the 114-pound title at the U-E Girls Tradesman Tournament Friday.

She allowed just two points against her, winning a pair of 10-0 tech falls, and one by a score of 12-2. Her pins came in 16 and 36 seconds.

Bohling also registered a pair of first-period pins in SVEC's duals against Waverly and Chenango ForksWednesday.
