IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: FAST START CARRIES SOUTHERN CAYUGA TO 57-23 WIN OVER S-VE (2024-12-17)
Tioga County Sports ReportSPENCER — Southern Cayuga got out to a quick start, and rolled to a 57-23 win over Spencer-VanEtten here Tuesday night in IAC Small School girls basketball crossover action.
The Chiefs jumped out to a 21-7 lead after the first eight minutes, then used a 10-6 spurt in the second quarter to take a 31-13 lead into the halftime locker room.
Southern Cayuga ended any doubts with a 17-6 third-quarter run to extend the lead to 48-19 heading into the final eight minutes.
Lilyanah Doolittle led S-VE with 10 points and five rebounds, while Lauren Gillette added five points, Faith Brenchley grabbed six rebounds, and Kate Klym, Kaylee Root and Andy Wallace had four boards apiece.
The Panthers turned the ball over 30 times in the loss.
S-VE, now 0-3, hosts Marathon Friday.
