IAC JV BOYS BASKETBALL: SOUTHERN CAYUGA JUMPS OUT EARLY IN 55-37 WIN OVER S-VE (2024-12-17)
Tioga County Sports ReportAURORA, N.Y. — Southern Cayuga raced out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter, and never looked back in a 55-37 win over S-VE here Monday night in IAC Small School junior varsity boys basketball action.
The junior Chiefs jumped out to a 22-9 lead after the first quarter, then used a 12-7 spurt to take a 34-16 lead into the halftime locker room.
Southern Cayuga ended any doubts with an 18-8 run in the third quarter to extend its lead to 52-24 heading int the closing stanza.
Aaron Shoemaker led S-VE with 12 points, while Javier Bailli scored nine points, Elliott Johanns added seven points, and Gabriel McCracken chipped in with five points.
Daegan Miller, who scored 21 points in the first half, led the Chiefs with 31 points.
S-VE returns to action Friday at Marathon.
