IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: SOUTHERN CAYUGA ROLLS OVER S-VE (2024-12-16)

AURORA, N.Y. — Southern Cayuga raced out to a 27-point first-quarter lead, and cruised to a 77-43 win over S-VE here Monday night in IAC Small School boys basketball crossover action.

Isaac Brozon pumped in 11 points, including a 3-pointer, while Ben Kermidas scored 10 points, and Kyler Colton added nine points to fuel a 31-4 blitz in the first quarter for the Chiefs.

S-VE's Luukas Carling scored seven points in the second quarter, and Jackson Bennett added a 3-pointer, but Southern Cayuga outscored the Panthers, 15-13, to take a 46-17 lead into the half.

The Chiefs ended any slim doubts of the outcome with a 25-11 run in the third quarter, sparked by 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers from Brozon, and five points, including a trey, from Colton.

Three-pointers by Bennett, Noah Ingram and Cameron Sundquist sparked a 15-7 fourth-quarter run for the Panthers.

Carling led S-VE with 15 points, while Bennett scored nine on a trio of 3-pointers, Sundquist added seven points, and Ingram chipped in with five points.

Brozon led all scorers with 31 points, while Colton scored 15, and Kermidas added 14 points.

S-VE, now 0-2, returns to action Friday at Marathon.
