TIOGA COUNTY SPORTS REPORT: CANDOR'S FOSTER, OWEGO'S McEVOY NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2024-12-12)

TIOGA COUNTY — Candor junior Jakobe Foster and Owego senior Madison McEvoy had strong starts to the season. They are the TCSR / Guthrie Community Credit Union "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Dec. 7.

CANDOR'S FOSTER NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Foster averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 5 rebounds per game to lead the Coyotes to a pair of wins.

In a 67-39 win over Marathon, Foster poured in 37 points, including two 3-pointers and 10 of 11 performance from the free-throw line, seven assists, four rebounds, and one blocked shot.

Foster added 12 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals in a 57-43 win over Towanda.

OWEGO'S McEVOY NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
McEvoy averaged 17.5 points, 4 assists, and 3.5 steals in helping the River Hawks to a runner-up finish at the Charlie Sibley Memorial Tournament.

McEvoy led Owego with 19 points, including five 3-pointers, five assists, and three steals in a 65-30 win over Trumansburg in the Sibley Tournament opener.

McEvoy led Owego with 16 points, four steals, and three assists in a 62-55 loss to Elmira in the finals.
