STAC BOWLING: OWEGO BOYS SWEEP SUS. VALLEY; OWEGO GIRLS WIN, 5-2 (2024-12-12)

BINGHAMTON — The Owego boys opened the season with a sweep of Susquehanna Valley, while the Lady River Hawks won, 5-2, here Wednesday afternoon in STAC bowling action at Sunset Lanes.

BOYS
Owego 7, Sus. Valley 0

Connor Kotski and Evan O'Hara each rolled 600 series to plead the River Hawks to a sweep.

Owego won the first game 960-819, and followed it up with wins of 988-901 and 945-810 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,893 to 2,530.

Kotski banged out a 652 series on games of 204, 203, and 245, and O'Hara shot a 626 on games of 199, 236, and 191.

Devan Card rolled a 554 for the River Hawks, while Grayden Stanton added a 515, and Grayson Quick tacked on a 357.

Cazz Bonsell led SV with a 564, and Colsten Steen added a 559.

JV Boys: Nate Dwyer rolled a 476 to lead Owego to a sweep in the JV match.

GIRLS
Owego 5, Sus. Valley 2

Izzy Coveney led a balanced Owego line-up in a 5-2 win over Susquehanna Valley.

The River Hawks won the first game 656-616, and the second game 725-638. The Sabers avoided the sweep with a 682-676 win in the third game, but Owego won total-pinfall by a count of 2,057 to 1,824.

Coveney rolled a 477 series, while Elaina Anshotz shot a 467, and Elizabeth Reigle had a 447. Izzy Taylor added a 377 for the River Hawks, and Mattie Kinney tacked on a 289.

Owego returns to action Tuesday against Windsor at Sunset Lanes.
