TIOGA COUNTY — The 2024 fall sports season will draw to an end this weekend with Candor and Owego in action at the New York State Volleyball Championships at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls, and Owego senior Kaelyn Katchuk competing at the New York State Diving Championships.

New York State Playoffs
Class A SemifinalsOwego will take the court in Class A semi-final pool play Saturday at 8 a.m.
The unranked River Hawks, 19-0 after a state quarter-final sweep of Massena, will be in action against the state's top-ranked Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake of Section II, second-ranked Section V champ Pittsford-Sutherland, and eighth-ranked Section XI champ Sayville.
Owego will open pool play against Sayville.
Class D SemifinalsCandor, ranked fourth in the state at 13-1 after a state quarter-final win over Section III champ Lafayette, which was ranked sixth, will take to the hardwoods for Class D semi-final pool play Friday at 2 p.m.
Candor will open pool play against eighth-ranked Section VI champ Ellicotville, and will also face 10th-ranked Section II champ Mekeel Christian, and unranked Section IX champ Tuxedo.
NEW YORK STATE SWIMMING & DIVINGNew York State Championships at the Webster Aquatic Center: Katchuk returns to the Webster Aquatic Center aiming to bring home a state medal.
Katchuk holds nearly all the Section IV records, and looks to carry that success into the state meet.
The diving competition begins Friday at 1:30 p.m. at will run through completion.
