Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY — A Section IV championship football game, a pair of volleyball state playoff games, and 10 Owego harriers in action at the New York State Cross Country Championships headline a busy Saturday of postseason action.

FOOTBALL
Section IV Playoffs
Class B Finals
2-Owego (8-1) at 1-Maine-Endwell (10-0), 3 p.m.:
The River Hawks advanced to the Class B Championship game with a 34-14 win over Norwich, while the Spartans rolled over Oneonta, 49-0.

Maine-Endwell clinched the division title two weeks ago with a 21-7 win at Owego. (Click here to see a full preview.)

VOLLEYBALL
New York State Playoffs
Class A Semifinals
Owego (18-0) at Massena (10-0), 1 p.m.:
The Rivers Hawks captured the Section IV title with a sweep of Maine-Endwell, while the Raiders swept Ogdensburg to win the Section X title.

Massena topped Peru 3-1 in the Regional Championship to advance to the state quarterfinals.

The winner advances to the state semi-final pool play in Glens Falls.

Class D Semifinals
LaFayette (18-3) at Candor (12-1), 11 a.m.:
The Coyotes claimed the Section IV title with a sweep of Newfield, while the Lancers avenged a regular-season loss with a five-set win over Bishop Grimes in the Section III title match.

The winner advances to the state semi-final pool play in Glens Falls.

CROSS COUNTRY
New York State Championships, 11 a.m. @ Queensbury H.S.:
Owego will take 10 runners to the state meet, led by four-time state qualifier, and two-time Section IV champ Jaelyn Chrysler. (Click here to see full preview.)
