Senior Evan Woodward led Troy to a rout of state powerhouse Southern Columbia in the District 4 football semifinals, while Waverly junior swimmer Mira Kittle, and Owego senior diver Kaelyn Katchuk continued to break records in the postseason. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Nov. 9.

TROY'S WOODWARD NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Woodward led Troy to a 69-28 win over seven-time defending PIAA champions Southern Columbia to advance into the District 4, Class AA title game against Warrior Run.

Woodward rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries, scoring on runs of 62 and 57 yards.

Woodward was also 3-for-5 for 81 yards and an interception throwing the football.

Defensively, he had seven tackles, including two tackles-for-loss, and a pass break-up.

Waverly's Ben Shaw (football), SVEC's Logan Aman (football), Troy's Jack Burbage (football), and Jaxyn Mahoney (cross country).

WAVERLY'S KITTLE, OWEGO'S KATCHUK NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Kittle won four events, setting two Maine-Endwell pool records, and one school record in the process, at Saturday's Class B Swimming & Diving Championships.

Kittle won the 100-yard backstroke in a school-record time of 56.79 seconds, and the 50-yard freestyle in a pool-record time of 24.28 seconds.

Kittle also swam on first-place 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays.

Katchuk won the Class B championship with a new Section IV record score of 586.2 points.

Katchuk became the first diver to ever win five Class B titles in a row.

Corning;'s Olivia Martinez (cross country), Northeast Bradford's Kelsea Moore (volleyball), and Wellsboro's Paige Logsdon (volleyball).
