WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: NEWARK VALLEY GRAD WANDELL HELPS FREDONIA TO WOOSTER TOURNEY TITLE (2024-11-13)

WOOSTER, Ohio — Newark Valley grad Allie Wandell, a senior on the SUNY Fredonia women's basketball team, helped the Blue Devils to the championship of the Wooster Tournament here at Timken Gymnasium.

In the opening round, an 89-69 win over Thiel, Wandell scored eight points and hauled down seven rebounds, to go along with two assists and one steal in 19 minutes.

In the finals Saturday, Wandell had five points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 37 minutes in a 76-72 win over Carlow College.

Fredonia returns to action Friday at William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y.
