NACOGDOCHES, Tx. — Newark Valley grad Cha Gardner, a freshman on the Division I Stephen F. Austin women's basketball team, saw a great deal of playing time in the Ladyjacks' 86-45 season-opening win over Texas Southern Monday.

Gardner played 24 minutes in her collegiate debut. She was 1-for-3 from the field with two points, five rebounds, and three assists.

SFA returns to action at Abilene Christian University on Tuesday.
