SECTION IV VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR TOP SEED IN CLASS D, OWEGO RECEIVES BYE INTO A FINALS — S-VE OPENS AT HOME TUESDAY IN CLASS C (2024-10-31)
Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — Candor will be the top seed in Class D, while Owego receives a bye into the Class A finals in the upcoming Section IV volleyball playoffs, and S-VE will open the postseason at home.
CLASS AOwego (18-0) is the second seed in the Class A playoffs, and will face top-seeded Maine-Endwell (7-5) in the championship game Nov. 9 at Tioga at 1 p.m.
CLASS CS-VE (11-2) is the third seed, and will host sixth-seeded Dryden (5-10) Tuesday at 5 p.m.
The winner advances to semi-final pool play at the highest remaining seed on Thursday.
Tioga (12-4) is the top seed, and will host the finals Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m., while Walton (14-2) is the third seed, Trumansburg (8-8) is the fourth seed, and Bainbridge-Guilford (9-4) is the fifth seed.
CLASS DCandor (13-1) is the top seed in Class D, and will host the semi-final pool play Thursday after receiving a bye in the quarterfinals.
Second-seeded Delhi (11-2) and third-seeded Deposit-Hancock (11-5) also receive byes into the semifinals.
Fourth-seeded Oxford (8-6) hosts fifth-seeded Newfield (8-5) Tuesday in the only Class D quarter-final match.
The finals are slated for Sunday, Nov. 10 at Tioga at 1 p.m
