Nathan Raab netted a hat trick to lead top-seeded Chenango Forks to a 3-1 win over SVEC Wednesday night in the semifinals of the Section IV, Class B boys soccer playoffs.

"Chenango Forks is a quality team and we made some critical errors that they capitalized on," said SVEC coach Jason Banks.

"Coach Lanning and I are proud of the team for the work they put in this season," he noted. "The seniors are great leaders and the underclassman made tremendous improvements as soccer players.

"As a team they won their division, competed in IAC championship game and earned a spot in the sectional semifinals," added Banks. "By most measures that is a great season."

Raab scored twice in the first half to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead at the halftime intermission.

Raab completed his hat trick with a penalty kick about nine minutes into the second half to make it 3-0.

Class Huenecke put the Eagles on the board about four minutes later with a penalty kick.

SVEC wraps up the season with an 11-5 record.
