IAC CROSS COUNTRY: CANDOR GIRLS THIRD, NV 4TH, SVE 5TH AT IAC CHAMPIONSHIPS (2024-10-30)
Tioga County Sports ReportMARATHON — The Candor girls’ cross country team took third at the IAC Championships, followed by Newark Valley and Spencer Van-Etten.
For the girls Candor had a score of 76, Newark Valley had 79 and SVE was at 134. Lansing had a team score of 38 to win.
Emma Haynes of Candor was third in 22:54.80 and teammate Kristin Baker was eighth in 24:02.30 followed by Brook Illsley of Newark Valley in 24:08.50. Newark Valley’s Olivia Vaughn was 13th in 24:23.20.
Zoey Lang of Candor was 20th in 25:41 followed by SVE’s Madelyn Ellison in 25:48.80. Newark Valley’s Malerie Gregrow was 25th in 26:36.90 followed by Candor’s Ayasha Schweiger (26:49.60) and Newark Valley’s Leah Lansing (26:54.80). Newark Valley’s Abigail Escalante was 29th in 27:22.30.
SVE’s Kaylee-May Davidson was 37th in 28:20.50 while Newark Valley’s Emily LaPorte was 39th in 28:47.10. SVE’s Brooke Ryan was 41st in 28:56.50 followed by teammate Lilie Stevens (29:03.20). Candor’s Calli Marsh was 44th in 29:18.10.
Candor’s Bella Patisco was 47th in 29:59.30 and Newark Valley’s Elle Webb was 49th in 31:05. Candor’s Emma Fey was 52nd in 31:33.70. SVE’s Ashley Ellison was 57th in 32:42.70.
On the boys side Newark Valley was fifth and SVE was ninth.
For the boys Newark Valley had a score of 162 and SVE 209. Southern Cayuga won at 66 points.
Newark Valley’s Marcos Escalante was 10th in 19:49.90 followed by Edward Rixford of SVE at 19:51.60. Newark Valley’s Leland Houston was 13th in 20:21.20 and Candor’s Gage Maxwell was 26th in 21:08.80.
Newark Valley’s Camden King was 28th in 21:26 and SVE’s Zachary Packet was 32nd in 21:41.80.
James Kane of Candor was 40th in 22:26.90 and SVE’s Lincoln Jones was 58th in 23:44.20.
Rhyley Payne of Newark Valley was 60th in 24:19 and SVE’s William Horyczun was 66th in 25:08.10. Jayden Stone of SVE was 68th in 25:13.60 followed by Kenric Beach of SVE in 25:15.70.
Newark Valley’s Reese Illsley was 72nd in 26:27.40 and SVE’s Kaiden Shock was 78th in 27:54.60 while Newark Valley’s Austin Debolt was 81st in 40:48.
For modified boys Candor’s Declan Shaw won in 10:08.3 and SVE’s Caleb Paucke was sixth in 11:17.6. SVE’s Tristan Jennings was ninth in 11:57.4 and teammate Brady Ryan was 15th in 12:57.1.
For modified girls Candor’s Bianca Lopez was third in 12:23 followed by teammate Vesper Weisz in 12:30.1. SVE’s Mackenzie Rose was 15th in 14:58.8. Candor’s Ellie Lower was 18th in 15:32.4.
Anthony Wintermute of SVE was 16th in the JV boys race in 30:24.60.
Newark Valley’s Charlotte Vaughn was fifth (32:23.60) followed by teammate Kaitlyn Bohne (32:23.80) in the girls’ JV race.
