SECTION IV SOCCER: SVEC BOYS, GIRLS WILL OPEN CLASS B PLAYOFFS ON THE ROAD (2024-10-18)

SPENCER — The SVEC boys and girls teams will both open the Section IV, Class B soccer playoffs on the road next week.
BOYS
SVEC (10-3) is the fifth seed and receives a bye into the quarterfinals, where it will face fourth-seeded Susquehanna Valley (8-5-1) Saturday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m.
The winner will likely play top-seeded Chenango Forks (11-2-1), unless the Blue Devils are upset by the winner of the opening-round match between eighth-seeded Dryden (7-8) and ninth-seeded Sidney (6-7).
At the bottom of the bracket, second-seeded Lansing (11-3-1) hosts seventh-seeded Chenango Valley (6-6-1), and third-seeded Oneonta (9-6) hosts sixth-seeded Walton-Downsville (10-4) on Saturday.
The Class B semifinals are set for Oct. 30 at the home of the higher seed, and the finals are Nov. 2 at Oneonta.
GIRLS
SVEC (7-6-1) is the eighth seed in the Class B girls soccer playoffs, and will play at top-seeded Waverly (10-4) Tuesday at 6 p.m.
The winner will play the winner of the game between fourth-seeded Lansing (9-4-2) and fifth-seeded Sidney (11-4) on Friday.
At the bottom of the bracket, second-seeded Watkins Glen (12-2) hosts seventh-seeded Union Springs / Port Byron (7-6-2), and third-seeded Chenango Forks (7-6-1) hosts sixth-seeded Susquehanna Valley (6-7-1).
The semifinals are slated for Friday at the home of the higher seeds, and the Class B title game is Nov. 2 at Oneonta.
