STAC GIRLS SOCCER: OWEGO CLOSES OUT REGULAR SEASON WITH 3-1 WIN OVER SETON CATHOLIC (2024-10-15)

BINGHAMTON — Ashlyn Dalton scored two goals and dished out one assist to lead Owego to a 3-1 win over Seton Catholic in the regular-season finale here Tuesday night in STAC girls soccer action.

“The girls played well after having a few days off,” said Owego coach Laurel Evans. “We were able to move the ball well through our mids and get our outside-mids some more looks with the ball.
 “
The girls are playing well together and figuring out how to navigate with some different line ups as we prepare for sectionals,” added Evans.

Dalton scored an unassisted goal about two minutes into the game, then scored again, off a feed from Liz Reigle, midway through the half to make it 2-0.

Anna Hodges, off a feed from Dalton, scored early in the second half to make it 3-0.

Sarah Lewis scored for the Saints late in the game to avoid the shutout.

Owego had a 19-4 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

Olivia Dodge recorded one save in net for the River Hawks.

Owego closes out the regular season with a 7-6 record.
